Do expecting parents make many plans for the infant
that is coming soon? Are most infants accepted well
into their new families? Do most infants understand
many events in their early life? Do most aged persons
remember much from their early childhood?
The Psalmist reasoned and came to the conclusion that
because God made him, He must know him quite well. If
God planned enough to make any person, then certainly
God accepts that person the way that He developed him-
"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my
mother's womb; I will praise You, for I am fearfully
and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And
that my soul knows very well" (Psa 139:13-14). Fear
of God's power and praise of His mighty works was a
a result of the Psalmist's logic and reason. As he
pondered the place of his creation, like the deep
places of the earth, he realized there would never be
a place that he could be removed from the support and
presence of his Almighty God and friend!
The Psalmist knew that God gave him the opportunity to
trust Him from his birth. An infant preserved in the
mother's womb is only by God's protection for he could
perish in a thousand diffent ways without God's help-
"But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made
Me trust while on My mother's breasts" (Psa 22:9). His
security came from knowing that a God who could protect
him would not fail him or forget him. From early times of
kindness from God, his soul began to trust in God. From
the time of dedication of his life to God by his parents,
he was made to believe in God's remembrance of him.
The Psalmist was able to strengthen his faith by the
memory of the times that God preserved him. The many
experiences of the benefits of God were in his mind-
"By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who
took me out of my mother's womb. My praise shall be
continually of You" (Psa 71:6). His logic and reason
made him to realize that he received many mercies at
an early time in his life when it was undeserved. He
found that God would be faithful in the time of his
old age and departure from this world. God is faithful
to remember His mercies to His precious saints!
Let us remember who is our Best Friend. God's Name is
Jehová Adonai. He is the God who accepts us as we are
without any modifications. He is the God who will never fail
you nor forget you. He will never leave you or let you down.
Lift your hands to your Best Friend. Praise Him and thank
Him for all the blessings of His acceptance and friendship.
