If a person were to find favor with God, what would the
qualifications be to be accepted by God? If God accepted
that person upon meeting his qualifications, would God
ever fail him? Would God abandon the person that He had
accepted?
John tells us about a man that was blind from birth that
searched for the favor and acceptance of God. He wanted
God to give him sight and Jesus miraculously made the man
able to see. He testified to those that inquired of him
Who had healed him and what he had to do to receive sight-
"We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is
God-fearing, and does His will, He hears him" (John 9:31).
He found comfort that God hears the man that does not keep
or regard iniquity in his heart and relieves him. God will
hear his praises and accept them, He hears his prayers to
answer them. God accepted the pentitent sinner that asked
for mercy and granted his appeal to right his case.
The Psalmist declared the reliability of God to His servants
who made His Word their rule. They prevailed with God to find
that He would not fail the person that kept a pure heart--
"Moses and Aaron were among His priests, And Samuel was one
that was among those who called on His Name; They called upon
the Lord, and He answered them" (Psa 99:6). It is the saint,
one pardoned by God of his sins, who finds God will not fail
him. God does not forget the person striving to be justified
by His methods and manners.
God spoke kind words to Jacob to impress the fact that God
intends to make His presence known with those that do His
will and live by His standard. He will not abandon His own-
"Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go,
and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave
you until I have done what I said that I would" (Gen 28:15).
Just as His Word is true and His many promises were true to
Jacob, they are true to those that follow Him in truth.
Let us remember who is our Best Friend. God's Name is
Jehová Adonai. He is the God who accepts us as we are
without any modifications. He is the God who will never fail
you nor forget you. He will never leave you or let you down.
Lift your hands to your Best Friend. Praise Him and thank
Him for all the blessings of His acceptance and friendship.
