Do you have a friend in a high office? Do you know someone
very important? If you need someone to speak on your part
or behalf, can you call them for assistance? If you face
trouble, is there someone you can rely on and trust?
The Scripture tells us Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord
of Lords, but yet He has called us friends. The purpose of
His birth was to rescue us from trouble. The writer of the
Proverb tells us that "A friend loveth at all times; And a
brother is born for adversity." (Pro 17:17) Just as you
may have a brother that you could call in times of need,
so is Jesus, our friend in time of need.
The great King of Kings wants to know His subjects,
who He considers to be His friends. To know Him we
must know of His faithfulness, to have faith in Him.
The writer of the Proverbs knew the reliability of the
friendship of the great King. "But there is a friend that
sticketh closer than a brother." (Pro 18:24b)
The Scripture tells us that you can call Him today. He
tells us, "Call on Me and I will show you great and
mighty things of which you do not know." (Jer 33:3)
Let us remember who has all authority, He is our great
King. God's name is Jehová Adonai. He is the God who
valued our friendship to the point of death. A man can
show no greater love than he lay down his life for his
friends. Call on your important Friend today. Trust Him
and Praise Him today for His dependable friendship!
