Can you compare God to any person that lives on the earth?
Does God forget things? Is there something an individual
can do to improve his memory? Does God protect the weak
person from trouble and oppressors?
The Scripture tells us that God cannot be compared to any
person on earth. His ways and words are very different-
"God is not like a person, that lies; He is not a human who
changes His mind. Whatever He promises, He does; He speaks,
and it is done" (Num 23:19). When the Scripture says that
God repented, it does not mean any change of His mind; but
only a change of His way. When the Lord sees that we trust
in His mercy, and accept His salvation; and continue no longer
in rebellion, but endeavour to serve and glorify Him; we may
be sure that He accepts us; that He changes His way with us.
The Psalmist found those ways and words of God to be true
and declared that God won't forget His promises to us---
"He provides food for those who honor Him; He will never
forget His covenant" (Psa 111:5). The Psalmist understood
that honoring God began a process in him to make him a man
of honor. God sharpens the mind of that person that honors
Him to remember His ways and words. The mind that honors
God becomes clearer and does not forget God or His words.
The Psalmist was convinced that God could not be compared
with anyone and observed how God helped the weak person--
"With all my heart I will say to the Lord, "There is no one
like You. You protect the weak from the strong; the poor
from the oppressor" (Psa 35:10). God remembers the person
that calls Him; the person that acknowledges that he needs
God's assistance.
Let us remember who is the God that remembers all things.
God's Name is Jehová El Berith. He is the God that makes
promises to His people, and does not forget. He does not
have the frailty of our human frame, and He is mindful
that we are but dust. Lift your hands to Him and Praise
Him today for the fact that He is the faithful God that
remembers His promises to us! Make your promises to
Him today and see the difference!
