What is one of the purposes of God's promises to us? Can He
forget those promises or those children that are special to
Him? Will God always remember His promises to us?
Paul preached to the Corinthians about the progress and the
perfection that come from the many great promises of God-
"All these promises God made to us, my dear friends, Is so that
we may purify ourselves from everything that makes body or
soul unclean, and let us be completely holy by living in awe
of God" (2Cor 7:1). The purpose of God's promise is to purify
us and make us holy. It is the Believer's goal to reach the
standard that God has set.
The Psalmist found comfort in the fact that God remembers the
promises that He makes. We are not alone when we are suffering-
"God remembers those who suffer; He does not forget their cry,
and He punishes those who wrong them" (Psa 9:12). It is our
comfort to know that we are not forgotten. The Believer's hope
is that God will make the wrongs right again!
The Psalmist was able to declare from His personal times
with God that we are on His mind and are not forgotten--
He has given food to those who fear Him; He will always
remember His covenant promises to His people (Psa 111:5).
God is faithful to provide for the Believer on a daily
basis; the daily spiritual bread provision as well as
the daily physical provision.
Let us remember who is the God that remembers all things.
God's Name is Jehová El Berith. He is the God that makes
promises to His people, and does not forget. He does not
have the frailty of our human frame, and He is mindful
that we are but dust. Lift your hands to Him and Praise
Him today for the fact that He is the faithful God that
remembers His promises to us! Make your promises to
Him today and see the difference!
