What benefit is a pact or covenant that exists between two
parties whether individuals or countries? Is a covenant a
promise or agreement about what the parties will perform?
Are covenants often the topics of conversation?
The Writer to the Hebrews knew that a covenant with any
party is an expression to promote security from any evil
or conceived mischief that could do harm to either party.
He referred to the Gospel Covenant that is security from
the harm and evil that could come from sin in our lives-
"This is the Covenant that I will make with them after
those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their
hearts, and in their minds I will write them" (Heb 10:16).
What remains written in our hearts is our faith and the
seal of that on our soul and mind by the Spirit that will
sanctifies us to obedience. Because it is written on our
heart and mind we know that we are justified and He does
not remember our sins any longer.
Paul knew as an attorney would present a case, men are the
ones who suffer from the results of sin. Without anyone to
defend us, we are hopelessly condemned to punishment for
eternity. But God made a way to prevent harm and mischief-
"And this is My Covenant with them, When I take away their
sins" (Rom 11:27). God made a way to take the guilt of our
sin away and eliminate the sin. What has been written in
the heart, mind, and soul in the place of the sin that was
removed is a new set of programmed instructions.
Isaiah knew from the Lord that His Words and truth would
continue from the mouths of the faithful and wouldn't depart-
"And as for Me, this is My Covenant with them says the Lord,
My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put
in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from
the the mouth of your offspring, even from the mouths of
your children's children for now and forever" (Isa 59:21).
Only those that are united with Christ can benefit from a
Covenant with Him. The promise and faithfulness of the God
that makes Covenants is our security.
Let us remember who is the God that remembers all things.
God's Name is Jehová El Berith. He is the God that makes
promises to His people, and does not forget. He does not
have the frailty of our human frame, and He is mindful
that we are but dust. Lift your hands to Him and Praise
Him today for the fact that He is the faithful God that
remembers His promises to us! Make your promises to
Him today and see the difference!
