Do people forget promises and commitments that they make
to others? Do you think many foreigners should be allowed
to enter our country and enjoy the benefits that we have?
Is it a benefit to you to have a faithful friend that keeps
his promises?
The writer of the Hebrews and James tell us that we
have to meet conditions to receive God's promises--
"You need to be patient, in order to do the will of
God and receive what He promises" (Heb 10:36);
"But if you look closely into the perfect law that sets
people free, and keep on paying attention to it and
do not simply listen and then forget it, but put it
into practice—you will be blessed by God in what
you do" (James 1:25). We should remember our pact
with God and His presence with us.
Paul tells us that at one time we were all considered
to be outsiders and strangers to God---"At that time
you were apart from Christ. You were foreigners and
did not belong to God's chosen people. You had no part
in the covenants, which were based on God's promises
to his people, and you lived in this world without hope
and without God" (Eph 2:12). That hope should be open
and shared with others.
Paul tells us that God's promise of a Savior to His people
was kept to His chosen people by sending Jesus to live
a sacrificial life for them-"For I tell you that Christ's
life of service was on behalf of the Jews, to show that
God is faithful, to make his promises to their ancestors
come true" (Rom 15:8). Our children are blessed from
many promises kept to their parents.
Let us remember who is the God that remembers all things.
God's name is Jehová El Berith. He is the God that makes
promises to His people, and does not forget. He does not
have the frailty of our human frame, and He is mindful
that we are but dust. Lift your hands to Him and Praise
Him today for the fact that He is the unforgetful God that
remembers His promises to us! Make your promises to Him
today and see the difference! He is faithful to His Word.
