Would you like to know that your future descendants would
remember you for something special? Would you like someone
to promise you that they would never stop loving you? Are
you knowledgeable enough to recognize great events that are
unfolding before you eyes?
Abraham's faith was tested when he offered Isaac as a
sacrifice and God then promised him a prolific future--
"I make a vow by My own Name—the Lord is speaking—
that I will richly bless you. Because you did this and did
not keep back your only son from Me, I promise that I
will give you as many descendants as there are stars in
the sky or grains of sand along the seashore. Your
descendants will conquer their enemies" (Gen 22:16-17).
Those who believe by faith in God have become children
of God and descendants of Abraham. God's promise to us
is that we will conquer our enemies.
God made a promise and covenant with David that His
love would be unfailing and David could rely on it--
"But I will not stop loving David or fail to keep My
promise to him. I will not break My covenant with him
or take back even one promise I made him. Once and for
all I have promised by My Holy Name: I will never lie
to David" (Psa 89:33-35). The promise included a future
kingdom where his Righteous Descendant would reign.
Mary recognized God's faithfulness throughout time and His
plan for mankind while acknowledging His flawless memory--
"He has kept the promise He made to our ancestors, and has
come to the help of His servant Israel. He has remembered
to show mercy to Abraham and to all his descendants forever!"
Elizabeth praised God and when her husband Zechariah wrote
down the name of their son would be John, his mouth opened--
"Let us praise the Lord, the God of Israel! He has come to
the help of His people and has set them free. He has provided
for us a Mighty Savior, a descendant of His servant David.
He promised through His holy prophets long ago that He would
save us from our enemies, from the power of all those who hate
us. He said He would show mercy to our ancestors and remember
His sacred covenant. With a solemn oath to our ancestor Abraham
He promised to rescue us from our enemies and allow us to serve
Him without fear, so that we might be holy and righteous before
Him all the days of our life.
Let us remember who is the God that remembers all things.
God's name is Jehová El Berith. He is the God that makes
promises to His people, and does not forget. He does not
have the frailty of our human frame, and He is mindful
that we are but dust. Lift your hands to Him and Praise
Him today for the fact that He is the faithful God that
remembers His promises to us! Make your promises to Him
today and see the difference! He makes His covenant last.
