Have you ever traveled on roads in remote areas where it
is very difficult and sometimes dangerous? Did you think
that it would be a great improvement if the authorities
could make the rough spots smooth? When narrow passages
are necessary to travel from one location to another, is
it helpful to have a small vehicle or large one?
Isaiah the prophet was very familiar with traveling throughout
Israel and knew the difficulty of finding a safe, secure route.
God promised Israel that He would help them in their travels-
"I will make a highway across the mountains and prepare a road
for My people to travel" (Isa 49:11). More specifically, God
intends to help us in our walk of life with Him. He intends
to help us facilitate the spreading of the Gospel. Though
there may be difficulties on the way to heaven, His grace
will help us over them, even the most difficult way cleared!
Paul wrote to the Thessalonians to encourage them on their
walk in "the way"; that a sphere of holiness was over them-
"Because it is God's purpose that our way of life may be not
unclean but holy" (1Thes 4:7). When encountering difficult
areas along the way, He encouraged strict restraint on the
will, appetites, thoughts, and senses of the body that lead
to wrong uses of them if not restrained.
The Writer to the Hebrews recited the Psalm that was fulfilled
by Christ; it was His creed and has become the creed of others-
"Behold, I have come-- In the volume of the book it is written
of Me-- To do Your will, O God" (Heb 10:7). It is our purpose
as well to do the will of the Lord that He prepares for us
so that we may enter at the narrow gate. The Believer can see
the purpose of His creation of a new person in us!
Let us remember Who has the holier and righteous way.
God's Name is Jehová Elohim. He is the God who puts
our feet on a Highway of Holiness that allows us to
enter at the narrow gate of eternal life, not the wide
Broadway that leads to destruction. Lift your hands,
heart to Him for His Creation and provision of the
righteous way. You can Trust Him and Praise Him
Today for a holy way and better way!
