Did God create the human body to live for eternity or
was it designed with errors that it would fail? When
God breathed His breath into the first man, how did
God determine how many breaths he would have? Did
God create us to live a short time and then forget us?
The Psalmist petitioned God for understanding about how
fragile his life was-"Lord, make me to know my end, And
what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail
I am. Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths,
And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man
at his best state is but vapor--Selah" (Psa 39:4-5). Even
though he was a stong man, he realized that he should
not put his confidence in his strength. He understood
that his physical resources of strength would vanish as
a vapor, not because of God's error in creation and His
design, but because of man's failure in righteousness.
The Psalmist prayed, asking God about His thoughts--
"Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him?
Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him? Man
is like a breath; His days are like a passing shadow"
(Psa 144:3-4). He understood God's idea was for
man to live forever physically, however his sin caused
a "shortness of breaths". He found God was mindful
of him because of his love and mercy for him; and
then determined that since his life was likened to a
shadow that would slip away, he would do his best
to make his relationship with God right.
The Psalmist preached to his neighbors that God does
not forget us, even though many of this world will not
remember much about us--"For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days
are like grass; As a flower in summer, he flourishes.
For the wind passes over it, and he's gone, his place
remembered no more" (Psa 103:14-16). He understood
his short life was like a flower that would fade away;
and for God to remember him, he must follow Him closely.
Let us remember who has the holier and righteous way.
God's name is Jehová Elohim. He is the God who puts
our feet on a highway of holiness that allows us to
enter at the narrow gate of eternal life, not the wide
broadway that leads to destruction. Lift your hands,
heart to Him for His creation and provision of the
righteous way. You can Trust Him and Praise Him
Today for a holy way and better way!
