How old do you think the mountains and the world are?
Are your expectations frequently exceeded, or are the
results usually less than what you expected? What type
of life foundation is the most secure?
The Psalmist declared and probably knew that from the
perspective of this earth, it's age can not be compared
by eternal standards. We often look to mountains and
oceans as those formations that last many generations-
"Before the mountains were formed and made, and before
You formed the earth and the world, even from eternity
to eternity You are God" (Psa 90:2); Jehová El Olam.
God is control of all time standards on earth and also
controls the times when earth's time is over.
Peter understood the temporal nature of our time here on
earth, but knew that God would keep His promises to us--
"By grace God has given to us exceedingly great and the
precious promises, that through these you may be partakers
of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that
is in the world through lust" (2Pe 1:4). To escape loss of
life is what men have searched for ages. Our God has made
a promise that exceeds what we may expect. To have a new
eternal divine nature certainly exceeds our expectations.
The wise King Solomon observed that bad things often can
happen to all men, but there is a difference to the outcome-
"When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, But
the righteous has an everlasting foundation" (Pro 10:25).
Regardless of loss of life, the righteous person has the
eternal hope and promise of God that he will live. Not so
with the wicked who believes that this life will simply be
over when it is over. Those who believe in another way to
eternal life other than Christ will be disappointed.
Let us remember the God that is our Everlasting God. God's
Name is Jehová El Olam. He is the God of Eternity that always
was and always will be. He is the God who has an eternal purpose
for us that Exceeds what any mind may conceive. He understands
human frailty and the shortness of life. Lift your hands to Him
and Praise Him today for the fact that He is the God who is our
Everlasting God that will always be there for us!
