Is it difficult to believe something that we have only
heard about? Are there some things that you just have to
see for yourself to believe? Are there some things that
that the human mind cannot conceive?
The Scripture tells us that there was a Queen of Sheba
that heard much about the wisdom and works of Solomon.
She did not believe all that she heard about him, and
decided to go to Solomon and see things for herself--
"Concerning your words, and concerning your wisdom; I
did not believe them that told me, until I came myself,
and saw with my own eyes, and have found that the half
had not been told me: your wisdom and your works, exceed
the fame which I heard" (1Kin 10:7). Interestingly the
wisdom is what made the strongest impression on Sheba.
She saw a spiritual excellence that exceeded what she
heard about Solomon.
Isaiah preached to Israel to explain a similar concept
to them about reports that seem difficult to believe.
It may seem difficult to believe, but God has surprises
in store for those that have been faithful to His Word-
"For from of old they have not heard nor perceived by ear,
Neither has the eye seen a God besides You, Who acts on
behalf of the one who waits for Him" (Isa 64:4). Isaiah
was predicting the future good benefit that God would do
for His people according to His eternal purpose.
Paul preached to the Early Church in Corinth to encourage
them in their faith that God has a substantial reward for
those that persevere and remain faithful to Him to the end-
"For just as it is written, "Things which eye has not seen
and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart
of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him"
(1Cor 2:9). Paul explained that the human mind can not now
conceive what everlasting joy will be for the one that now
loves Him and communes with Him.
Let us remember the God that is our Everlasting God. God's
Name is Jehová El Olam. He is the God of Eternity that always
was and always will be. He is the God who has an eternal purpose
for us that Exceeds what any mind may conceive. He understands
human frailty and the shortness of life. Lift your hands to Him
and Praise Him today for the fact that He is the God who is our
Everlasting God that will always be there for us!
