Do you agree that there is a perfect time for evertyhing?
Is humility a virtue that you admire in another person or
does it make you feel uncomfortable? Have you ever had a
job that you completed, and nothing could be added to it to
make it better, or anything taken away from it to improve it?
Wise Solomon tells us that the cares of this world often
times keep us from seeing God's eternal hand that made
all things--"He has made everything beautiful in its time.
Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no
one can find out the work that God does from beginning
to end" (Ecc 3:11). Just as the seasons change, there is a
time for everything; including an eternity to know and to
praise God.
Isaiah tells us that God's purpose is to the contrite person
that has recognized his need for God to do an internal work:
"For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity,
whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, With
him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit
of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones"
(Isa 57:15). When God revives a person, that person has a
hope that the eternal God will complete the work He began.
Just as Jesus advised His disciples to count the cost to serve
Him, Solomon wrote that a man must consider that he will face
a God who will require answers to His questions--"I know that
whatever God does, It shall be for eternity. Nothing can be
added to it, And nothing taken from it. God does it, that men
should fear before Him; That which is has already been, And what
is to be has already been; And God requires an account of what is
past" (Ecc 3:14-15). God wants to give a clean slate and a clear
conscience to the person who understands that only God can
make the necessary internal changes in his life.
Let us remember the God that is our Everlasting God. God's
name is Jehová El Olam. He is the God of eternity that always
was and always will be. He is the God who has an eternal purpose
for us that exceeds what any mind may conceive. He understands
human frailty and the shortness of life. Lift your hands to Him
and Praise Him today for the fact that He is the God who is our
Everlasting God that will always be there for us!
