Does God answer us immediately when we pray to Him in times
of trouble? What is the most reliable method to get quickest
help and relief from God for our requests? When considering
your greatest needs, what would you put at the top of the
list?
The Psalmist was often distressed and discouraged. Just as
Hagar cried out to God for Him to see her need, the Psalmist
asked God not to delay with His assistance in time of need--
"My whole being is deeply troubled. How long, O Lord, will
You wait to help me" (Psa 6:3)? God waits often times while
we are in need; reflections of our inner self are brought to
our mind, and then we begin to see our true needs.
The Psalmist learned from times of discouragement and the
events that brought distress; praising the Lord was a way
to get help quickly from Him, and his troubles soon passed-
"Praise the Lord, my soul! All my being, praise His holy
Name" (Psa 103:1)! There is power in the Name of the Lord
and to praise Him reaches our emotional needs and gives us
stability and security. Praise to God becomes our strength.
Paul described the need of every person that the Lord saw
and purposed to help us individually by the payment of His
life for our sin debt. God saw a need for us to be free--
"And we know that our old being has been put to death with
Christ on His cross, in order that the power of the sinful
self might be destroyed, so that we should no longer be the
slaves of sin" (Rom 6:6). The need of every person for a
new way of life is now possible. Paul found that incredible
and declared the change that resulted--"My inner being
delights in the law of God" (Rom 7:22).
Let us remember who is the God that sees all things.
God's Name is Jehová El Roi. He is the God that sees
the NEEDS of His people, that is our moral conscience
and strength daily, and is our strong support because
our hearts are truly His. Lift your hands to Him and
Praise Him today for the fact that He is the God that
that sees everything that we need!
