Will God really protect Israel from its enemies and are
there people that say that He won't? What confidence can
a person have today that will give him strength and sound
judgement? What support and refuge is best in times of
danger and trouble?
The Psalmist tells us that many people in his day believed
that the Lord did not care about what was happening in the
world and in their lives. They declared their presumptions-
"The Lord does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob pay heed"
(Psa 94:7). Those people were saying that God would have
no regard for His people, however the Psalmist responds to
those unwise statements strongly that God does see and each
person will have to answer to Him. God in His mercy first
sees the need of every person and attemts to reason with us.
Those that refuse His kind intentions will face Him as a
Judge for refusing His initial favorable view of them.
The Psalmist was able to prevail in temptation because of the
conscience that God gave him. He looked around him at many
persons that did not fear God and it appeared that they lived
without the afflictions of a disciple of Christ. However upon
closer investigation, he noticed the difference. He was then
happy that God was his strength and was his full contentment-
"My flesh and my heart may fail; But God is the strength of my
heart and my portion forever" (Psa 73:26). He was happy that
God enlightened him and he renounced confidences in all other
portions, except his Lord.
The Psalmist was reassured and reaffirmed by God's promise
that our daily help comes from the God Who sees us always-
The Lord of the host is with us; The God of Jacob is our
stronghold and our support- Selah (Psa 46:11). He
was glad that God was on his side and a safety to His own
people. Every disciple may take refuge in the comfort of
His promise to us and may answer every fear because we
have God on our side in life and in death!
Let us remember who is the God that sees all things.
God's Name is Jehová El Roi. He is the God that sees
the NEEDS of His people, that is our moral conscience
and strength daily, and is our strong support because
our hearts are truly His. Lift your hands to Him and
Praise Him today for the fact that He is the God that
that sees everything that we need!
