What is the reward for a person that does good in our
society or the penalty for the one who loses his honor?
What is the hope of the believer about his leaders and
his fellow citizens? How does the all powerful God of
grace strengthen and empower the believer?
Paul wrote to the Romans to encourage them to have a
goal to do what is right and to maintain a high standard-
"But God will give glory, honor, and peace to all who
do what is good, to the Jews first and also to the
Gentiles" (Rom 2:10). Moral failures are painful and
bring disillusion to all concerned. Wise King Solomon
warned of those dangers and the consequences of them--
"Sin and shame go together. Lose your honor, and
you will get scorn in its place" (Pro 18:3). The God of
power endeavors to strengthen every believer in honor.
Isaiah prophesied that one day we will have a leader
that will not lose his honor but rule with integrity--
"Some day there will be a king who rules with integrity,
and national leaders who govern with justice" (Isa 32:1).
"Righteous people—people of integrity—will live in
this land of ours" (Pro 2:21). The believer has a hope
for honor and integrity in his leaders in authority and
for his fellow citizens.
Paul explained to the Romans that to reach for a high goal
and high standard of honor and integrity many times is not
without suffering, but that suffering has a good result--
"More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing
that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces
character, and character produces hope" (Rom 5:3). As the
God of grace and power builds the believer, He helps us
become a people of honor, integrity, and character.
Let us remember who is the all powerful and Mighty God.
God's Name is Jehová El Shaddai. He is the God who
uses His strength to defend and support us. His power can
give us all we need to live righteously . Lift your hands to
the most powerful God of all the universe. You can Trust
Him Today for strength and power in your life!
