When a person is in need of sufficient provisions, who
should help him and who has the power to help him? Is
there anyone who is really self sufficient and has the
power of his own energy and he doesn't need any help?
Do most people believe that trouble will come tomorrow
or some time in the future, or will it come today?
God instructed Moses to institute principles in Israel
that demonstrated the way God helped each of us. If
one suffered from lack of provision; his countrymen,
his brothers, and his friends should assist his need-
"For you as brothers do certainly open your hand to
him, and do certainly lend him sufficient for which
he does not have" (Deu 15:8). God reminds us that at
one time just as the Israelites were rescued out of
Egypt, we were rescued out of sin with His mighty
hand of power and given sufficient provisions to live.
Paul instructed the Corinthians that it is a danger
when one believes that he is sufficient in himself to
provide or minister. It is the Lord's sufficiency-
"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of
anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency
is from God, Who also made us sufficient as ministers
of the New Covenant, not of the letter or of the law,
but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Holy
Spirit gives life" (2Cor 3:5-6). The power of the Holy
Spirit is greater than he that is in this world. Only
that power is all sufficient for us.
Jesus taught his disciples that they would need that help
and power of the Holy Spirit every day. Some believed
the problem would be tomorrow and expected in advance
that a difficulty would come. But Jesus knew the problem is
here today and it's full of enough trouble; so focus on that-
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow
will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its
own trouble" (Mat 6:34). Sufficient is our Lord with His
power to help us each day, without worry, and in victory!
Let us remember who is all powerful and all sufficient.
God's Name is Jehová El Shaddai. He is the God who does
not give us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and
a sound mind. His power can give us all we need to live a
righteous life. Lift your hands to the most powerful God
of all the universe. You can Trust Him Today for strength
and power in your life!
