Would you define a miracle as something that can only
be explained as a supernatural event? What comes to mind
when someone talks about a "higher power" to you? What
would you say is the source of your inner strength?
The Scripture tells us that God was doing great miracles
through Paul and that by the evidence of the power of God
many believed and were converted to follow Christ: "In this
powerful way the Word of the Lord kept spreading and
growing stronger" (Acts 19:20). The evidence of their faith
and conversion was the rejection of their former way of life.
The writer of the Hebrews tells us that Jesus accomplished
an incredible feat and that the power of His Word sustains
the universe--"He reflects the brightness of God's glory
and is the exact likeness of God's own being, sustaining
the universe with His powerful Word. After achieving
forgiveness for the sins of all human beings, He sat down
in heaven at the right side of God, the Supreme Power"
(Heb 1:3). When one considers the magnitude of sin and
and its power, Jesus achieved a spectacular victory for us.
John reminds us that we now have the power of God to win
over sin, because we have turned our back on sin, and have
accepted His free pardon and forgiveness of sin that He won
for us by His sacrificial death--"But you belong to God, my
children, and have defeated the false prophets, because the
Spirit who is in you is more powerful than the spirit that is
in those who belong to the world" (1John 4:4). His mercy
is difficult to comprehend, but wonderful to consider.
Let us remember who is the all powerful and Mighty God.
God's name is Jehová El Shaddai. He is the God who
uses His strength to defend and support us. His power can
give us all we need to live righteously . Lift your hands to
the most powerful God of all the universe. You can Trust
Him Today for strength and power in your life!
