Many scientists believe the oceans are a vast frontier
with great discoveries waiting to be uncovered. How
powerful would you consider the waves of the sea to be?
What weapons would you think are the most powerful
of the world? Do wise and powerful people of the world
think or consider that God could be calling them?
The power of the ocean's waves is known for what great
destruction can be caused. However the Psalmist tells
us that God's power is greater than the waves of the
sea. "The Lord rules supreme in heaven, greater than
the roar of the ocean, more powerful than the waves of
the sea" (Psa 93:4). He understood that the power of
the sea's waves was small compared to His total power
over all the universe.
Many would consider a nuclear bomb to be a powerful
weapon capabable of destroying large areas of the
earth. However Paul tells us that the believer is
capable of destroying evil with the weapons that God
has issued him--"The weapons we use in our fight are
not the world's weapons but God's powerful weapons,
which we use to destroy strongholds and the false
arguments" (2Cor 10:4). The truth is a very powerful
defensive and offensive weapon.
Paul tells us that typically not many powerful people
or wise people in the world's eyes answer God's call--
"Now remember what you were, my friends, when God
called you. From the human point of view few of you
were wise or powerful or of high social standing"
(1Cor 1:26). Jeremiah declared to God that His Name
was powerful---"Lord, there is no one like You; You
are mighty, and Your Name is great and powerful"
(Jer 10:6). He realized that God was more powerful
than any king or wise person in high social standing.
No wisdom of the world can yield power like the power
of the Lord.
Let us remember who is the all powerful and Mighty God.
God's Name is Jehová El Shaddai. He is the God who
uses His strength to defend and support us. His power can
give us all we need to live righteously . Lift your hands to
the most powerful God of all the universe. You can Trust
Him Today for strength and power in your life!
