If a convicted thief were pardoned for his crime, would it
mean that society would accept his actions of theft again?
Or would society expect a pardoned thief to live honestly?
If the pardoned thief returned to a life of crime would you
think he could find anyone willing to help and defend him?
The Psalmist tells us that many remember God and His power
to deliver a person from sin, but they fail to understand His
mercy and letter of pardon is not a license to keep the old
life and continue in sin, but is the submitted life-----"And
they remembered that God was their Rock, And the Most
High God their Redeemer; but they continued to tempt God,
to rebel against the Most High God, and would not keep His
testimonies" (Psa 78:35-36). The Prophet Samuel explained
to King Saul that he was in error for disobeying God and
that rebellion was a serious sin.
The Psalmist continued to explain that there is a price to
pay for the action of rebellion and non-adherance of policy-
"Because they rebelled against the words of God, And they
condemned the counsel of the Most High God; He brought
down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was
none to help" (Psa 107:11-12). Fortunately for us, He will
listen when we understand our error and ask for mercy.
Genesis gives us a picture of our High Priest who would
be our bread of life and would come to bless and help us
"And Melchizedek King of Salem brought forth bread and
wine: and He was priest of God Most High. And He
blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of God Most
High, possessor of heaven and earth; and bless the Most
High God, who has delivered your enemies into your
hand. And Abram gave him a tenth of all" (Gen 14:18-20).
Abraham is our example of faith and obedience that called
to the Most High God for assistance.
Let us remember who has the higher and better way.
God's Name is Jehová Elyon. He is the God of a higher
and better way. He is the Most High God. His solution
to every problem is a better solution. That solution and
way can be yours today. Lift your hands to Him today
for His higher way. Trust Him and Praise Him Today
for a better way!
