Who actually rules the world and is a King with great
and awesome power? Does this King rule with justice
and do right in the eyes of His subjects? Do people
listen and respect Him when He speaks to them?
The Psalmist considered often the Most High God and
thought about His great power. He knew that the Lord
ruled with a righteous hand and should be revered---
"The Lord, the Most High, is to be feared; He is a
great King, ruling over all the world" (Psa 47:2).
As he meditated about God, he realized the benefit
and blessing he received by honoring His precepts.
The Psalmist was glad and grateful for God's method
of mercy and justice. He trusted that God would be
faithful to maintain his cause as he followed Him---
"I thank the Lord for His justice; I sing praises to
the Lord, the Most High God" (Psa 7:17). He knew
that his Lord was a fair God that was ruling with His
wisdom, even though many times it did not appear that
his circumstances were fair to him.
The Psalmist waited patiently for God to change his
circumstances and God answered him. God spoke with
strength and ruled in his favor to give him justice-
"Then the Lord thundered from the sky; and the
voice of the Most High God was heard" (Psa 18:13).
His faith was rewarded for he trusted that God had a
better way than his own. The Lord moved the obstacles
and changed his circumstances to his benefit.
Let us remember who has the higher and better way.
