Do leaders that govern and make executive decisions
often consult with their associates before the orders
are issued? What system of deliberation works well for
applying solutions to complex problems? Are there any
penalties or severe consequences for neglecting wise
counsel and systems that provide solutions?
The Scripture tells us that the king of ancient Babylon
was a prudent and caring leader. He made inquiry into
many matters to govern wisely and with care. To provide
his people with justice and equity, he consulted with
many knowledgeable and wise men. To solve problems in
the kingdom, he considered the counsel of the experts.
He found three wise young Hebrews men consistently were
able to provide solutions to difficult, complex issues-
"No matter what question the king asked or what kind
of problem he raised, these four knew ten times more
than any fortuneteller or magician in his whole kingdom"
(Dan 1:20). The Babylonian given names to Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego, the Hebrew men acquired by the
Babylonians, held fast to the faith of their fathers.
They were not influenced by the pagan culture; but
influenced their environment by their life style and
sound judgement. Without bias, the king discovered in
all cases that their God provided correct solutions!
The Psalmist knew the importance and value of teachers
however he discovered a system that gave him solutions
quickly. He meditated on God's Word day and night and
found grace from God. What God has testified of Himself
in His Word acts like a mirror to reflect the condition
of the heart and mind. By God's grace and help he could
modify his actions and receive instructions from Him--
"I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your
testimonies are my meditation" (Psa 119:99). When one
sets his mind to follow God, he aligns himself with a
perfect God. God's system is perfect and without flaw.
Wise and knowledgeable teachers with experience are no
doubt valuable counsel, however the life submitted to
the Lord's will knows God's system will never fail!
The Writer to the Hebrews explained that solutions
and systems that work are great. To obey and submit
certainly are important in learning God's will with
insight, but without the provision of the sacrifice
of Jesus, one cannot be delivered from condemnation-
"He appeared to men to put away sin by the sacrifice
of Himself" (Heb 9:26). His sacrificial death made
an atonement for every man's sin, a payment for the
debt that each man owes to Christ for the punishment
that Christ took for the wrath of God against sin.
Let us remember who is the God that provides all things.
God's Name is Jehová Jireh. He is the God that provides
a Solution to the problems of His people. He is the God
that provides a System for His people to live. He is the
God that provided a Sacrifice for humanity. Lift your
hands to Him and Praise Him today for the fact that He
is the God that provides for our every need!
