What is God's purpose for a person when He calls that one
to follow Him? If you could change the course of your life
would your freedom be the first requirement to do so? What
guarantee does one have if he listens to God's call and in
fact is free to make a new course in life, that God really
has something better in store him?
Paul explained to the Romans that God has a purpose to make
things right with those who listen to His call and He puts
them in a different category than those who don't listen---
"Those whom God has selected, He also set apart to become
like His Son, so that the Son would be the first among many
believers; And so those whom God set apart, He called; and
those He called, He Put right with Himself, and He shared His
glory with them" (Rom 8:29-30). His purpose is to make things
right with us, and that sets us apart from those without Christ
and He begins His process to make us like Him!
Paul explained to the Romans and Corinthians that everyone is
under the power of sin, and without a remedy will suffer death-
"For we are conscious that the law is of the spirit; but I am
of the flesh, given into the power of sin" (Rom 7:14). "The
pain of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law" (1Cor
15:56)! But the remedy and new law is one of life and freedom-
"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me
free from the law of sin and death" (Rom 8:2). The person that
is free is liberated to pursue another life course!
Paul explained to the Corinthians that the evidence of God's
ownership on a person is the Holy Spirit He puts in lives--
"God has placed His mark of ownership upon us, and He has
given us the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the guarantee of
all that He has in store for us" (2Cor 1:22). The person who
begins to follow God by faith in His Word, understands that
God can't lie and His promises are true!
Let us remember who is the God that sanctifies us as a
holy people. God's Name is Jehová Mekaddesh, He is the
Lord that sets His people apart. He completely cleanses
us from all unrighteousness. He completely liberates us
from the power of sin. He completely fills us with His
Holy Spirit. Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him today
for His mercy, purpose, and will to sanctify us!
