How does our society notice and tell that a person is a
born again believer? What makes his life believable and
what he says firm and true by those that know him? What
power does God give to the person that is a believer and
that wants his life to be light and testimony to society?
Peter taught the believers that God sets apart His people
the same way He set apart one day a week for rest. His
people are noticed to be different by their holy actions-
"Instead, be holy in all that you do, just as God Who
called you is holy" (1Pet 1:15). They are different in
nature, because they have a new nature from the Lord Who
called them. God called the believers with a new nature
for a purpose of testifying to His nature and work.
John taught the believers that they have a common purpose
with other believers in Christ. We walk in the light of God-
"But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we
have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus
His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1John 1:7). He purifies
us to solidify our testimony of Him. The life and words of
Jesus can be believed by others because what they see in
the lives of believers is true.
Micah the prophet testified that the Holy Spirit gave him
boldness to proclaim God's word. God gave him a conscience-
"But as for me, the Lord fills me with His spirit and power,
and gives me a sense of justice and the courage to tell the
people of Israel what their sins are" (Mic 3:8). He simply
proclaimed what was right and just. He stood against what
was wrong in his society. He was more concerned about the
consequences if he did not stand for what was right, than
to keep silent and suffer no consequences from his society
that was without a conscience.
Let us remember who is the God that sanctifies us as a
holy people. God's Name is Jehová Mekaddesh, He is the
Lord that sets His people apart. He completely cleanses
us from all unrighteousness. He completely liberates us
from the power of sin. He completely fills us with His
Holy Spirit. Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him today
for His mercy, purpose, and will to sanctify us!
