What purpose should corporate profits serve and be used
to accomplish? What options should corporations consider
to find a useful purpose for profits? What desires that
people have should be met first?
Just as the Jews had many judgments against them by God
for their sin and pride, Tyre was judged also for her sin
and pride. But God in His mercy allowed both to be heirs
of salvation and forgiven. Isaiah prophesied that one day
Tyre will be used by God--"Her gain and her pay will be
set apart for the Lord; it will not be treasured nor laid
up, for her gain will be for those who dwell before the
Lord, to have sufficient provision on food" (Isa 23:18).
The profits generated by the markets of Tyre will serve
a charitable and holy use. Tyre will support those that
teach the good knowledge of the Lord and further the
Gospel. When one abides with God in his worldly call,
and he does all in his power to further the Gospel,
then his merchandise and work is holiness to God. His
being is set apart and sanctified for God's glory.
Zechariah propesied of the day that would come that all
things are sanctified and set apart for the Lord's use--
"In that day there will be inscribed on the bells of the
horses, "HOLY TO THE LORD." And the cooking pots
in the Lord 's house will be like the bowls before the altar"
(Zec 14:20). When God sanctifies and cleanses a person
every area of his life is affected. Unrighteousness is
no longer considered an option.
Jesus promised to all those that long for that filling by
God of their deepest desires of holiness will be granted-
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled" (Mat 5:6). They will be saturated
and have their fill of righteousness. The Believer wants
to be in complete spiritual and entire conformity to the
law of God. Those that have been satisfied by the filling
of His Holy Spirit have complete freedom from sin.
Let us remember who is the God that sanctifies us as a
holy people. God's Name is Jehová Mekaddesh, He is the
Lord that sets His people apart. He completely cleanses
us from all unrighteousness. He completely liberates us
from the power of sin. He completely fills us with His
Holy Spirit. Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him today
for His mercy, purpose, and will to sanctify us!
