Does the victory always go to the strongest person in a
contest, or are there other factors that determine the
outcome? Is there someone who watches those contests to
assure that the rules are followed and fairness assured?
Where does one find or obtain the inner strength to do
great feats and accomplishments?
The Psalmist tells us that the person who is a Believer
has set his hope on higher sights than the strength of
what may seem strong in the world. He rejoices in God--
"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will
remember the Name of the Lord our God" (Psa 20:7). They
can praise Him for He has revealed Himself to them. For
that reason they are different from those that live in
the world and those that make their confidence by what
is strong in the world. However the one who praises the
Name of the Lord can make the Lord his confidence!
The Writer to the Hebrews was reminded of the Prophet Isaiah's
words and quoted him about how God assured Him of assistance-
"I will put My trust in Him." And again: "Here am I and the
children whom God has given Me" (Heb 2:13). Every Believer is
set apart and sanctified with holy power to complete the task
that the Lord gives according to His purpose. His assurance of
assistance is new every morning and upon each new prayerful
request to Him. The Believer may say with the strongest of all
confidences, "I will put My trust in Him" in all circumstances!
Paul preached to the Believers in Thessalonica for them to know
that the "Sanctified Life" can only be lived by God's power--
"For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in
power by the Holy Spirit with much assurance, as you all know
what kind of men we were among you for your sake" (1Thes 1:5).
But He does promise that power for us with the very strongest
of assurances with His Holy Spirit, the unexplainable dynamic!
He could say confidently, "I can do all things through Christ"!
Let us remember who is the God that sanctifies us as a
holy people. God's Name is Jehová Mekaddesh, He is the
Lord that sets His people apart. He completely cleanses
us from all unrighteousness. He completely liberates us
from the power of sin. He completely fills us with His
Holy Spirit. Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him today
for His mercy, purpose, and will to sanctify us!
