Would it be a joyful time if we had a leader that could
execute justice and right in our society? Would citizens
be excited about the prospect of a leader that eliminates
inequities? What groups of people hope for someone to
appear to make that happen in our world?
Jeremiah rejoiced for the future time when Christ is
to come and defeat evil and wickedness in the world--
"In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up
to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute
righteousness and judgment in the earth" (Jer 33:15).
Jeremiah was elated to prophesy of a future that will
be secure without sin in the world. The standard and
banner of the Lord's righteousness will be welcomed by
His righteous people!
The Psalmist petitioned the Lord in excitement because
He teaches us in His righteousness that gives victory--
"And in Your majesty ride on victoriously, For the cause
of truth and meekness and righteousness; Let Your right
hand of righteousness work well before You" (Psa 45:4).
The Gospel is compared to a chariot or horse that Christ
rides and when the Gospel is preached, Christ goes from
one place to another. The energy of the Holy Spirit is
what gives His Believers and disciples strength every day!
John prophesied by a vision from God that revealed Jesus
is returning to judge with equity and His righteousness--
"And I saw heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and
He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True; and in
righteousness He judges and wages war" (Rev 19:11). He
will come to gather His elect people and to destroy all
evil. His standard and banner will be raised high to go
before Him as He leads His host to victory!
Let us remember who is the God that is our Banner. God's
Name is Jehová Nissi. He is the God whose Banner over
us is His love. He raises up His Standard of Righteousness
for us when the enemy comes in like a flood. He makes
that Standard of Righteousness a higher calling in your life.
Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him today for the fact
that He is the God who is our Banner and is ready to
accept our mental choice, our soul-life changes, and our
life's strengths and concentrations to love Him!
