Do you believe that a double standard should exist in
a society or should the same regulations apply to all?
Should anyone be given a second chance if he fails to
keep the standard? If the person receives the pardon
and second chance, should he live by the new standard?
Moses explained that God has one standard. He has one legal
system of justice. God's nature or methods have not changed-
"There shall be one standard for you; it shall be for the
stranger as well as the native, for I am the Lord your God"
(Num 24:22). It is not a double standard that some people
are allowed, it is a standard of justice and righteousness
that God promises will remain forever. There is no plan by
the Lord to respect any man as it relates to God's law.
Paul explained to the Romans that all people were subject
to condemnation, for every person has violated God's law.
But God in His mercy has made a way to pardon every person
for that spiritual legal violation if they will follow His plan-
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of
God for salvation to everyone who believes, to Jew's first
and also to Gentiles" (Rom 1:16). The spiritual pardon is
available to every person that has faith to believe that
God exists as a Universal King and is entitled to be Lord
of his life. That pardon is applied when the person repents
and changes his mind about sin while asking God to forgive
him. God's standard for the new Believer/Disciple is the
new law of love that works acts of kindness and mercy!
Paul explained to the Romans that God's standard is not a
system of notions, but a practice of His standard. Only by
hearing His word and applying it to one's life can a person
make a beginning and progress in his faith to please God--
"So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of
Christ" (Rom 10:17). The new standard for the any Believer
is always the Word of God that instructs him by the power
of the Holy Spirit!
Let us remember who is the God that is our Banner. God's
Name is Jehová Nissi. He is the God whose Banner over
us is His love. He raises up His Standard of Righteousness
for us when the enemy comes in like a flood. He makes
that Standard of Righteousness a higher calling in your life.
Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him today for the fact
that He is the God who is our Banner and is ready to
accept our mental choice, our soul-life changes, and our
life's strengths and concentrations to love Him!
