Do small items make a big difference or is there little
impact of small items? Who can guard us from trouble and
danger? What advantages does freedom have to the one
who was once enslaved?
James explained to the early believers that small items
can make a big difference. One small item that makes a
big difference is to listen to our Guide and His will--
"If we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them
obey us, we guide their whole bodies. Or look at ships:
though they are so large that it takes strong winds to
drive them, yet they are guided by a very small rudder
wherever the will of the pilot directs" (Jam 3:3-4). If
we listen when God directs us, we will be directed in a
perfect way without errors.
Paul explained to the Thessalonian believers that the Lord
will the give one strength and protection that heeds Him--
"But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard
you from the evil one" (2Thes 3:3). Many find themselves
without direction and protection; even shipwrecked in the
faith that gave them hope; because they did not listen to
the Guide who wants to guard their life.
Paul explained to the Romans that a believer would profit
in this life by the freedom found in Christ and His duty-
"But now you have been set free from sin and are the slaves
of God. Your gain is a life fully dedicated to Him, and the
result is eternal life" (Rom 6:22). By following Him loyally
and responsibly, our gain will be our eternal reward.
Let us remember who is the God that is our Shepherd. God's
Name is Jehová Rohi. He is the God that is our Guide. He
Provides direction and a way for us. He is our Guard. He
Protects us from harm and keeps us safe under the shelter
of His wings. Jehová Rohi teaches us that godliness is great
Gain. He Profits us by withholding no good thing to those
that walk in His righteous paths. Lift your hands to Him and
Praise Him today for the fact that He is the God that leads
and shepherds us according to the integrity of His heart!
