Have you been ever been hurt in an accident and needed a
physician? Have you ever been wounded in battle or from
attack? Have you ever suffered the loss of a loved one and
experienced the pain and void that it brought? How can a
a person recover, be restored, and remedied of the pain?
Certainly if you have lived on this planet, some of the
above painful events have happened in your life. Many people
ask, "Why?, How could God do that, or let that happen?".
That's a good question and you're in good company with
some of the wisest people that ever lived that asked the
same question. Isaiah tells us that God does inflict, or
allow the pain in our lives: "The LORD binds up the bruises
of His people and heals the wounds He inflicted (Isa 30:26).
God takes responsibility for the fact that He made us,
and that we are His responsibility. A parent with a child
that has an accident feels the same responsibility, and
hurts for the child. But the parent understands later
that the child made its own decision to take that chance
that resulted in the painful accident, and it was not
the fault of the parent. Even though God made us, He
has given us individual minds and wills to make good
or even bad choices that could result in very painful
situations. However He still helps us when we fall.
The Psalmist tells us: "He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds (Psa 147:3).
Many of our hurts are self inflicted from our own
mistakes, but we have a Heavenly Father that continues
to help and to heal. The Psalmist tells us: "He does
forgive all your sins and heals all your diseases, He
redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with
love and compassion, He satisfies your desires with
good things so that your youth is renewed like the
eagle's (Psa 103:3-5).
Let us remember who is the God that is our Healer. God's
name is Jehová Rophe. He is the God that is our Healer.
He binds up our wounds and heals all of our infirmities. To
the brokenhearted, He comforts the soul. To the bruised
person, He applies His tender care and affection to ease
the pain. Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him today for
the fact that He is the God that heals us of the spiritual
infirmities that trouble us!
