Would you like for our country to be shown abundant
peace and security as never before? The words that
are on our coins remind us of our libery. Would it
benefit us as a nation and as individuals to remember
that we trust in God? What is the best purpose to
live for?
God promised Israel that a significant purpose in His
relationship with them was to restore them--"But I
will heal this city and its people and restore them to
health. I will show them abundant peace and security"
(Jer 33:6). Ever since Adam and Eve disobeyed God,
He has purposed to restore fallen man from sin.
Jeremiah preached to His people to return to the Lord
of Restoration for a remedy--"Return, all of you
who have turned away from the Lord; He will heal
you and make you faithful. Say, "Yes, we are coming
to the Lord because He is our God" (Jer 3:22). To
remember the relationship that we have with God is
a starting point to restoration, that He is our God.
Hezekiah is a famous example of one who was sick and
about to die. He prayed and vowed to God that His only
purpose to live would be to please God--"Lord, I will
live for You, for You alone; Heal me and let me live"
(Isa 38:16). God restored him physically and made the
relationship right spiritually again for Hezekiah.
Let us remember who is the God that is our Healer. God's
name is Jehová Rophe. He is the God that is our Healer.
He binds up our wounds and heals all of our infirmities. To
the brokenhearted, He comforts the soul. To the person who
is down, the Sun of Rightousness Rises with healing in His
wings. Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him today for
the fact that He is the God that heals us of the spiritual
infirmities that trouble us!
