Happy New Year!!!!
Would you like someone to promise you that you would be
able to complete your plans and goals for 1999. Would you
have more confidence if those goals and plans were also
approved by someone important? Would it be helpful to know
that you could be encouraged and find assistance from that
important person if you needed it?
The Psalmist found a way to accomplish his plans and to
accomplish the goals that he set for the coming year---
"Commit your way and your plans to the LORD, Trust also
in Him, and He will do it for you. He will bring forth
your righteousness as the light And your judgment as the
noonday" (Psa 37:5-6). That way of completion for the
Psalmist began with a commitment to God. To submit our
plans to God is always a good idea to have His approval.
Moses was a man that wanted God's approval for his plans,
but was interested in God's plan so that he would not fail-
"Moses said to the Lord, "It is true that You have told me
to lead these people to that land, but You did not tell me
whom You would send with me. You have said You know me
well and are pleased with me. Now if You are, tell me Your
plans, so that I may serve You and continue to please You.
Remember also that You have chosen this nation to be Your
own." The Lord said, "I will go with you, and I will give
you victory." (Exo 33:12-14) With God's approval, we can
accomplish our plans and goals, He will give us victory.
God spoke through Isaiah to those who doubted if God would
accomplish, approve, and give His assistance for victory--
"Remember what happened long ago; acknowledge that I alone
am God and that there is no one else like me. From the very
beginning I predicted the outcome; long ago I foretold what
would happen. I said that My plans would never fail, that I
would do everything I intended to do. I am calling a man to
come from the east; He will swoop down like a hawk and will
accomplish what I have planned. I have spoken, and it will
be done. "Listen to me, you stubborn people who think that
victory is far away. I am bringing the day of victory near—
it is not far away at all. My triumph will not be delayed"
(Isa 46:9-13). He has determined not to permit us to fail
but to give us victory in plans and commitments to Him.
Let us remember the God that is our Captain. God's name
is Jehová Sabaoth. He is the God who is the Captain and
Lord of The Hosts of Heaven. He is the Mighty Conqueror
over all of His enemies. He is mighty in battle and able to
lead His Host to victory. Lift your hands to Him and Praise
Him today for the fact that He is the God who is our Captain
that leads us to our victory!
