How does one achieve status and rank in the armed forces
of our country? Is a military person or leader expected
to battle mightily? Is there a guarantee for success in
battle or are there only probabilities of success?
The Psalmist desired that the Captain of the Lord of
Hosts battle mightily for righteousness and mercy-
"Gird Your sword on Your thigh, O Mighty One, In Your
splendor and Your majesty!" (Psa 45:3). His hope was
to advance in the spiritual ranks to become a leader
of righteousness to overcome and conquer evil.
John was given the hope and knowledge that Jesus would
be returning to battle mightily to conquer all iniquity-
"I looked, and there was a white horse. Its rider held a
bow, and he was given a crown. He rode out as a conqueror
to conquer" (Rev 6:2). In His hand is total power to beat
and defeat every enemy of righteousness. John was also a
Disciple that hoped to advance in righteousness and the
spiritual ranks of Christ to overcome all evil.
Paul explained to the Corinthians that Christ will reign
and make all of His enemies subject to Him by their loss-
"For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under
His feet; O death, where is your victory? O death, where
is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of
sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1Cor 15:25-57).
All pain, sickness, and death will be lost. He promises
His Disciples/Believers that they will have the victory!
Let us remember the God that is our Captain. God's name
is Jehová Sabaoth. He is the God who is the Captain and
Lord of The Hosts of Heaven. He is the Mighty Conqueror
over all of His enemies. He is mighty in battle and able to
lead His Host to victory. Lift your hands to Him and Praise
Him today for the fact that He is the God who is our Captain
that leads us to our victory! He teaches us to overcome!
