Life often times can be disappointing and dscouraging. The
human race suffers the greatest defeat in life at death.
Is there a way to have victory in that sorrowful moment?
How can one overcome the most sorrowful moment that
every human will inevitably face? Is there a way to win
against the strong forces of the world?
Paul tells us that death is not joyous, but we have victory
in Christ who never fails in His word to save His children:
"The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm.
Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the
work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the
Lord is not in vain" (1 Cor 15:56-58). In other words:
Don't ever, ever, ever, turn back or doubt His Word.
John tells us that the "born again believer" overcomes all:
"For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the
victory that has overcome the world, >even our faith. Who
is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that
Jesus is the Son of God" (1 John 5:4-5). Our faith in Him
gives us the strength to overcome.
Facing intimidating circumstances David put those truths
to the test. He relied on His God to defeat his enemy.
God gave him the victory: David answered, "You are
coming against me with sword, spear, and javelin, but
I come against you in the Name of the Lord Almighty,
the God of the Israelite armies, which you have defied"
(1 Sam 17:45). Defiance to God always ends in defeat.
Our enemy is a defeated foe with God as our help.
Let us remember the God that is our Captain. God's name
is Jehová Sabaoth. He is the God who is the Captain and
Lord of The Hosts of Heaven. He is the Mighty Conqueror
over all of His enemies. He is mighty in battle and able to
lead His Host to victory. Lift your hands to Him and Praise
Him today for the fact that He is the God who is our Captain
that leads us to our victory!
