Is there honor in persecuting the innocent and defenseless
person? Will those that wrongly persecute the innocent and
the defenseless silence the call for justice from the grave?
What will be the outcome for those that oppress, persecute,
and kill the innocent and defenseless person?
There is absolutely no honor in bringing harm to the innocent
or defenseless person. The Scripture tells us that God allowed
a defeat of His people for they had turned from following Him.
There was an unbeliever that God used: "Naaman, commander
of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man
in the eyes of king of Syria, because by Naaman the Lord had
given victory to Syria" (2Kin 5:1). God used the circumstance
to heal Naaman and perform a miracle in the camp of Israel's
enemy. When the enemies of God's people appear to have the
victory, God has another bigger purpose in mind.
The Scripture tells us that God executes justice in all the
earth. Righteousness is His and He will not allow the cry for
justice to be silenced (Jer 9:23-24). The Psalmist tells us
God will have the victory on His timetable: "Yours, O Lord,
is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and
the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head
over all" (1Chr 29:11). Those that wrongly persecute or harm
the innocent or defenseless will not silence the cry for justice
to a righteous God.
The Scripture tells us that the prayer and the hope of every
believer should be that our enemy will be healed and converted
to know that there is a God among His people. The Psalmist
exhorted his people: "Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He
has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm
have gained Him the victory" (Psa 98:1). We can praise
Him now for what we know He will do by His promise. Our
prayer can be that the oppressor will escape God's judgement
by repentance of his actions and by turning to God for salvation.
Let us remember the God that is our Captain. God's name
is Jehová Sabaoth. He is the God who is the Captain and
Lord of The Hosts of Heaven. He is the Mighty Conqueror
over all of His enemies. He is mighty in battle and able to
lead His Host to victory. Lift your hands to Him and Praise
Him today for the fact that He is the God who is our Captain
that leads us to our victory!
