Are elected political leaders held accountable for their words?
Are individuals responsible for their words? Why does it seem
to happen that the good guys finish last? Will there be a time
when the good will finally win out and overcome the bad?
Paul wrote to the Romans to indicate the importance of the
words of a person in salvation. Certainly if there is evidence
of a professed statement, then the words are true. If a person
professes with his mouth that Jesus is his savior, then there
will be actions that follow--"As it is written: "That You may
be justified in Your words, And may overcome when You are
judged" (Rom 3:4b). There will be a time that leaders and all
other individuals will have to answer to a righteous judge.
John tells us that at the end of time, God will allow the
AntiChrist to run his course--"It was granted to him to make
war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority
was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation" (Rev 13:7).
Sometimes we may think that the same deceiving spirits are
running that same course and winning. But things are not as
they seem, and God is in full control and the evil forces are
not winning, but adding damnation to their souls.
John continues to tell us that Jesus will overcome the evil
ones at His appointed time--"These will make war with the
Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord
of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are
called, chosen, and faithful" (Rev 17:14). The prayer of the
believer is that he will remain faithful to His calling and
not be ashamed to be called a chosen, faithful disciple.
Let us remember the God that is our Captain. God's name
is Jehová Sabaoth. He is the God who is the Captain and
Lord of The Hosts of Heaven. He is the Mighty Conqueror
over all of His enemies. He is mighty in battle and able to
lead His Host to victory. Lift your hands to Him and Praise
Him today for the fact that He is the God who is our Captain
that leads us to our victory!
