By what power was Jesus raised from the dead, so that
death could not hold Him in the grave? Does the king
that reigns and rules in a country have power to make
laws that affect those that he governs? How important
is it for the king to do right while he governs?
Paul explained to the Corinthians that by the same
power of righteousness that Jesus was raised up from
the dead we will also be raised up from the dead also-
"And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise
us up by His power; and he who is joined to the Lord
is one spirit with Him" (2Cor 6:14,17). The faith of
the believer has at its foundation the assurance that
the God of Righteousness will not let any one of His
blood bought, born again, followers suffer the penalty
of sin and death. We are are free from condemnation.
The same way a king has the power to govern during his
reign, we have Christ's power as He reigns in our life.
Paul explained to the Romans that the righteousness of
God has a power that is stronger than death in our life-
"So that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might
reign through righteousness to eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord" (Rom 5:21). The power of grace
and the righteousness of God can rule and reign in our
lives that will win over the power of sin. Paul explained
to young Timothy that one must endure against that power
of sin to win-"If we endure, We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him, He also will deny us" (2Tim 2:12).
The Scripture tells us that Israel was blessed extremely
well during the pious, righteous reign of King Josiah --
"And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and
walked in the ways of his father David; he did not turn
aside to the right hand or to the left" (2Chr 34:2). He
did his best to live a life apart from the presence of
sin. He determined with a resolute mind to do all that
was right in the eyes of God to please Him.
Let us remember who is the Lord that is Our Righteousness.
God's Name is Jehová Tsidkenu. He is the God that clothes
us with His Righteousness. He is the God that puts His truth,
humility, and kindness in our spirit. The Psalmist expressed
his joy and gratitude for a clear conscience: "I will praise
You as long as I live, and in Your Name I will lift up my
hands" (Psa 63:4). Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him
for the fact that He is the God that is Our Righteousness!
