Would you pay for a crime that you did not commit or would
you object strongly? Would you like to be able to say that
you have finished your work and there is nothing left to do?
What conclusion could be made about our work?
Paul tells us that the king and Lord of Righteousness came
to earth to live by humble means and to obey His Father--
"And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled
Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even
the death of the CROSS" (Phil 2:8). He was humiliated
for crimes and sins that He did not commit. He was a just
and perfect man without sin or blemish. His mission and
work to do for mankind was accepted because of His love!
John tells us that Jesus prayed to His Heavenly Father that
He had completed that mission to redeem mankind and was
ready to pay the ultimate price and lay down his life willfully-
"I have glorified You on the earth, I have completed the
work that You instructed Me I should do for their salvation"
(John 17:4). His mission to glorify God was now concluding
and He wished to glorify God in His suffering.
Mark tells us that Jesus brought not only His mission and
work to completion on earth but brought it to conclusion
in every point that was prophesied about His work for us-
"And the scripture was fulfilled, that said, And he was
numbered with the transgressors" (Mark 15:28). The King
and Lord of Righteousness became sin for us and took the
penalty of our sin that we rightly deserved on that cross.
Let us remember who is the Lord that is Our Righteousness.
God's Name is Jehová Tsidkenu. He is the God that sent
His Son of Righteousness to pay our debt of sin (death
on a cross). He completed His mission and work for us
perfectly. He fulfilled every prophecy about Him as the
Messiah so that only one conclusion could be made about
Him--He was the Messiah and is now KING---"I will praise
You as long as I live, and in Your Name I will lift up my
hands" (Psa 63:4). Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him
for the fact that He is the God that is Our Righteousness!
