Do you believe that absolute power corrupts absolutely?
In a country with an absolute dictator, what happens to
those who speak against the country? Are there many lands
and distant countries that wait expectantly for equity and
justice to come to their borders?
The Psalmist tells us that though God has unparalleled
strength and power, He rules with justice and holiness-
"Mighty King, lover of justice, You established equity;
You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob"
(Psa 99:4). He governs the world by His grace and His
Son of Righteousness. Jacob's name was changed to mean
one that is ruled by God, Israel. Our Redeemer waits to
be gracious to us as He was with Jacob. His absolute
rule is with His absolute righteousness!
Jude preached to the early Church and Believers that
we must look to find grace as Jacob did. Those people
that will not consider His grace are in danger of the
judgment and condemnation of God. One that rejects His
righteousness may not think that he is ungodly or that
their words are against Christ, but they are mistaken-
"He has determined to execute judgment upon all, and to
convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which
they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh
things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him"
(Jude 1:15). The call of Christ to the person without
salvation is turn from the ungodly way and not to reject
His mercy and grace, but call to the Son of Righteousness
and ask forgiveness and He will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah prophesied that the mission of the Messiah would
be completed to bring Righteousness to all of the earth-
"He will not be disheartened or crushed, Until He has
established justice in the earth; And the coastlands will
wait expectantly for His law" (Isa 42:4). By His miracles
and resurrection, Jesus showed the truth of His Gospel.
By that power of His Gospel and grace, he fixes principles
in the minds of men to make them wise and righteous. Many
many men may become weak in their religions, but with the
relationship with the Son of Righteousness it is not so
with His purposes of grace. The distant nations wait for
the hope of His Gospel and His Righteousness.
Let us remember who is the Lord that is Our Righteousness.
God's Name is Jehová Tsidkenu. He is the God that sent
His Son of Righteousness to pay our debt of sin (death
on a cross). He completed His mission and work for us
perfectly. He fulfilled every prophecy about Him as the
Messiah so that only one conclusion could be made about
Him--He was the Messiah and is now KING---"I will praise
You as long as I live, and in Your Name I will lift up my
hands" (Psa 63:4). Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him
for the fact that He is the God that is Our Righteousness!
