What is the best exercise that gives the best and
longest lasting results? What is the best way to
get out of trouble and difficulty? What is the best
way to know the right thing to do every day?
God spoke through Jeremiah to tell the world's
inhabitants that a person should boast that he
knows God and the things that please Him--"But
let him who glories glory in this, That he knows
and understands Me, That I am the Lord, Who
exercises lovingkindness, judgment, and My
righteousness in all the earth. For I delight in
these things" (Jer 9:24). Jeremiah found that
the best exercise was to daily exercise the
righteousness of God with his kindness and
good judgement in his daily affairs.
The Psalmist tells us that he examined the source
and the result of his righteousness-"He also brought
me out into a broad place; He delivered me because
He delighted in me; The Lord rewarded me according
to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my
hands He has recompensed me" (Psa 18:19-20). The
Psalmist is delighted because of God's righteousness;
because God has delivered him from trouble.
Solomon tells us that God endowed him with His good
judgement and righteousness--"You give the king Your
judgments, O God, And Your righteousness to the king's
Son; He will judge Your people with Your righteousness,
And Your poor with justice" (Psalms 72:1-2). That daily
prayer for His righteousness in our daily duties is a
prayer God is faithful to answer.
Let us remember who is the Lord that is our righteousness.
God's name is Jehová Tsidkenu. He is the God that clothes
us with His righteousness. He is the God that puts His truth,
humility, and kindness in our spirit. The Psalmist expressed
his joy and gratitude for a clear conscience: "I will praise
You as long as I live, and in Your Name I will lift up my
hands" (Psa 63:4). Lift your hands to Him and Praise Him
for the fact that He is the God that is Our Righteousness!
