Is God's purpose in performing a miracle what we would
normally expect? What conclusion would you have about the
ability of God to manage your affairs after experiencing a
miracle? What did God make possible through His miracles
and management?
When Peter preached thousands were saved. His message was
powerful as it stated the power of God to do many miracles-
"Yes, even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour
out My Spirit in those days, and then they will proclaim My
Message. I will perform miracles in the sky above and wonders
on the earth below. There will be blood, fire, and thick
smoke; the sun will be darkened, and the moon will turn red
as blood, before the great and glorious Day of the Lord comes.
And then, 'whoever calls to the Lord for help will be saved'
(Acts 2:18). God's purpose in performing miracles is to show
the way to salavtion, that people will know He is the God
that is in control of His universe. He will judge the earth
and its inhabitants; it's time to prepare for that day now!
Paul explained that after the miracle of salvation, one is
able to manage his life correctly with God's direction--
"For you are all sons of light and of the day: we are not
of the night or of the dark. So then, let us not take our
rest as the others do, but let us be self-controlled and
awake" (1Thes 5:5). Before the miracle of salvation, one
is not in control, but is managed by the power of sin. The
management plan of God enables us to follow Him wisely.
Paul wrote to the Philippians that Jesus, miraculously
born of a virgin, lived a life managed by the Holy Spirit,
and was obedient to the point of death; made a sacrifice-
"And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself
by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on
a cross" (Phil 2:8). That utltimate sacrifice of obedience
to the death made possible a new and better life for us.
Let us remember who is the God that makes all things
possible. Yahweh is the God Jehová, there is no other
god like Him. Jehová is the Lord of Miracles. He alone
has the power to Manage our life. He alone was
Mortified by a death that had no power. He used
His power to overcome sin and death for us. Lift your
hands to Him and Praise Him today for the power and
purpose of His miracles today!
