Do people often attempt to reconcile events and try
to determine why certain things happen? What attempts
are made to manage many events? Will there be a time
when there is sufficient knowledge to end all hurt?
The Scripture tells us that Gideon cried out to God
as a friend, not from distrust but from weakness of
his faith. He was a valiant man that had difficulty
with his present circumstances. It was difficult to
reconcile the defeats Israel experienced with the
promises and presence of God. He inquired of God--
"O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all
this happened to us? And where are all His miracles
which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the
Lord bring us up from Egypt?' But now the Lord has
forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the
Midianites" (Judges 6:13). He was encouraged by the
fact that God looked upon him favorably and answered
kindly his objections and assured him of victory.
Isaiah preached to Israel when they were discouraged
and explained that God certainly was capable and was
willing to manage their problems and deliver them
from their many difficulties. God can manage it all-
"Behold, the Lord's hand is not short That it cannot
save; Neither is His ear so dull That it cannot hear"
(Isa 59:1). However the sins of the people of Israel
were the source of the problems. God was not weary of
the prayers of His people, but the people were weary
of praying. As a consequence of turning from God, the
people were exposed to all the consequences of evil.
Isaiah prophesied to his people about the sacrifice and
the death of Christ that ultimately would pay in total
the payment for the sins of mankind. The enemy would
use every hurtful method to stop Him, but His mercy,
kindness prevailed; and He will end all hurtful acts-
"They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea" (Isa 11:9). Though He was
mortally wounded for our transgressions, He was able
by His miracle of death to life, to manage our enemy!
Let us remember who is the God that makes all things
possible. Yahweh is the God Jehová, there is no other
god like Him. Jehová is the Lord of Miracles. He alone
has the power to Manage our life. He alone was
Mortified by a death that had no power. He used
His power to overcome sin and death for us. Lift your
hands to Him and Praise Him today for the power and
purpose of His miracles today!
