When does God determine to do His miracles and what purpose
do His miracles have? Does the addition of anxiety to any
situation increase one's ability to manage it? What contract
is available to you that guarantees your future?
John tells us that Jesus had just performed a miracle by
feeding five thousand people when some people began to quiz
Him about what God wanted them to do--Jesus answered, "What
God wants you to do is to believe in the one He sent. They
replied, "What miracle will You perform so that we may see
it and believe You? What will you do? Our ancestors ate manna
in the desert, just as the scripture says, 'He gave them bread
from heaven to eat' " (John 6:29-31). As the people followed
God's cloud and Moses in the wilderness, they wanted a miracle
and sign as well to know about God. Just as that generation
was not able to enter the promised land because of their hard
and unbelieving hearts, those that quizzed Jesus for a miracle
were unbelieving, turned away, and did not accept Him.
Jesus explained that He provides for us on an "as needed"
basis and can manage our affairs without our anxiety added--
"Can any of you live a bit longer by worrying about it? If
you can't manage even such a small thing, why worry about
the other things? Instead, be concerned with His Kingdom,
and He will provide you with these things. Don't be afraid,
little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the
Kingdom" (Luk 12:25,26,31). He will manage our affairs if
we make our priority to do what God wants us to do.
The Writer to the Hebrews explained the method of God's
pact and how effectively it worked--"Christ is the One
Who administrates a new covenant, so that those who have
been called by God may receive the eternal blessings that
God has promised. This can be done because there has been a
death which sets people free from the wrongs they did while
the first covenant was in effect. Death was an enemy that
did not have power over Him because He lived a righteous
and sacrificial life to free us from guilt.
Let us remember who is the God that makes all things
possible. Yahweh is the God Jehová, there is no other
god like Him. Jehová is the Lord of Miracles. He alone
has the power to Manage our life. He alone was
Mortified by a death that had no power. He used
His power to overcome sin and death for us. Lift your
hands to Him and Praise Him today for the power and
purpose of His miracles today!
