Would would you do in a life threatening situation? Would
you remain calm and collected or would you come apart? Is
there a secret to face situations like that successfully?
The Scripture tells us that disillusion, disappointment,
and danger came all at the same time to David, a man who
who had risen to great heights with God, but had sunk to
great lows with the trial of a sad tragedy to his people-
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of
stoning him, because the soul of the people was grieved,
every man for his sons and for his daughters.. but David
encouraged himself in the LORD his God" (1Sam 30:6). The
people blamed David for their problems, and most leaders
would have failed at a time like this; However David was
able to keep his senses about him and his spirit calm by
one simple fact. He considered it his duty to believe
the God of Salvation would bring light out of darkness!
He trusted God that great trials are great opportunities
for God to show His greatness and power of Salvation
David had encountered the enemy (the Philistines) before
and remembered how God helped him previously. They came
to his people and plundered them but David called on God-
"In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my
God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, And my
cry for help before Him came into His ears" (Psa 18:6).
He was a praying man that found comfort during the trial
that God would hear his prayer. He found the God to bear
him up in trouble and the God of Salvation to deliver him!
The Psalmist tells us how he comforted himself in danger
and found a message of hope from an inward faith in God-
"My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my
Salvation. My soul, wait in silence for God only, For
my hope is from Him. Trust in Him at all times my soul"
(Psa 62:1,5,8). We can find great strength by reminding
ourselves that He is the God of our Salvation. Certainly
dialogue to stir and move him to trust God fixed his mind
and heart to know that he could confidently trust God!
Let us remember who is our Savior. God's Name is Jehová
Yeshua . He is the God of Salvation when the impossible
situation troubles us. He is the God that sends us a message
of hope when we don't believe we can make it . Raise your
hands to the Lord Of Salvation. Praise Him and thank Him
as the Messiah of Salvation Today!
