For good health, what would you consider the best cup
to drink? With this good health, do you think one would
be sustained in all the circumstances that wear one down?
Would you encourage others to make a decision to drink
from the same cup to experience the same benefits?
The Psalmist had a resolute mind after his decision to
follow Christ. He understood that the cup of salvation
was his means to spiritual health. He understood that
there were so many benefits with salvation, the cup of
affliction was quite small in comparison. By faith he
knew that the Lord would sustain him when he called Him-
"I will take up the cup of salvation, And call upon the
Name of the Lord" (Psa 116:13). God offered him the cup
of consolation for any trouble that he encountered! In
all circumstances he served the Lord!
The Psalmist found comfort as the Holy Spirit brought to
his mind that he had been careful to avoid the paths of
sin. He was comforted by God's promise to uphold him in
that holy path with sufficient daily strength and grace-
"I have called upon You, for You will answer me, O God;
Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech" (Psa 17:6). His
reflections of God's tender saving mercies overwhelmed
the sorrows and troubling situations that he faced to
give him hope in this life and his eternal future. He
found that he must pray daily to receive that strength
and grace to persevere! He wanted the extra measure of
of grace as one identified who loved the Name of the Lord!
The Psalmist encouraged others to find the joy, peace,
love, and hope that he found by calling on the Name of
of Lord. He wanted others to find the riches of His
grace and mercy so that they would be blessed richly--
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His Name; Make
His deeds among the peoples" (Psa 105:1). He purposed to
stir his people to devotion of praise and thanks to God.
He searched for God's favor in this life and for eternity!
Let us remember who is our Savior. God's Name is Jehová
Yeshua . He is the God of Salvation when the impossible
situation troubles us. He is the God that sends us a message
of hope when we don't believe we can make it . Raise your
hands to the Lord Of Salvation. Praise Him and thank Him
as the Messiah of Salvation Today!
